Messups

Image result for scribbles

Nobody likes messing up. Especially me. Whether in art or in life, everyone makes mistakes.
Some people say that there are no mistakes in art. Some say the opposite-that you can make mistakes. I've heard both sides. Actually, I have had conflicting thoughts on the subject myself!

Some people think that they are messups. That God messed up somehow in creating them. Well, if you are one of those people, let me tell you something: IT'S NOT TRUE. No matter what you or other people say about it, you are not a messup. God created you perfectly.
In other words, your his masterpiece. (Did you see what I did there? I referenced another post! XD) He didn't mess up on you.
Here's what the bible says about it:
Luke 12:7 says, "Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows."

Friends

For this post I'm going to veer away a little bit from art.
By the way, I'm so sorry I wasn't able to create a post recently. Me and my family went out of town to see family.

I was at church camp before we left town, and I met someone there who I could easily say is super close to me. We met about halfway through the week. Once we met, we were almost never apart.
Friends are very valuable things in life. The picture above gives a definition of the word 'friends'. All of those reasons are very true.
Here is a bible verse on friends:
One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother. (Proverbs 18:24)
We all (hopefully) have that one friend, right? You're always texting each other, hanging out, and even if they're far away, they're the closest to you in your heart.
If you are a situation where you feel like everyone has abandoned you, there is always someone there, even if you don't realize it. Guess who it is...your father in heaven! He is absolutely the closest friend you could ever have. He'll stick by you when times are tough, he'll encourage you when you feel like giving up.
Another thing. God wants to be your friend. All you have to do is accept his invitation.

So, are you friends with God? Have you accepted his free gift of salvation? If you haven't, here's a challenge: Find God. Read the bible. Become friends with your creator.

Details

Related image

When you draw, do you worry about details? I know I do. Look at the picture above. That's me when I draw. I mean, I don't draw pandas that often but you get the idea.
If you read my post before this one, you'll know about how God created you to be a masterpiece. Well, in order for something to be a true masterpiece, one must pay attention to the details. The big, the small, the pretty, and the not so pretty.
So, now what do we know? Well, we know that God created us to be a masterpiece, and that he cared enough for us that he payed attention to the details. Now let's move to something else.
Here is a bible verse I found that relates to detail: "Indeed, the very hairs on your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows." Luke 12:7.
That doesn't exactly relate to this post, but it, he does tell us some things that are important. He tells us that God pays attention to detail, for every single hair on your head is numbered. He also says we are worth so much to him, more than many sparrows, to be exact. That means he will care for you. Because he cares for the sparrows, right? And if you're worth more than sparrows, that means you're in good hands.
OK, I've gotten a little off-topic. Let's crank the wheel back to the beginning where I'm talking about details. Here's a challenge: If you like to sketch, paint, etc., this is mainly for you. If you don't pay attention to detail, or you do, just not a lot, I'm asking you to focus on adding detail to your artwork. Then look at it, and know it's a true masterpiece and then, lastly, thank God for this gift that you've been given.

Masterpiece

Ok, soo sorry this took so long! Now this post will be a shorter post.
Also, I bet your wondering why there's a picture of Danny Gokey up above. Well, I put that there because I'm going to reference his song, Masterpiece.
In this song, Gokey says, "Your making a masterpiece", that is so true. You are God's work of art. His masterpiece.
Another reference I'm going to make is called the Bible.
Ephesians 2:10 says, "For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago."
How's that for encouragement? Also, if you want to check out Danny Gokey's song, Masterpiece, I'll leave the link down below.
Well, that's all for now! Talk to you guys later!

Testimony Time!

Related image

To start off, I'll just say that this blog post won't be one of my regular art-related posts. No, this is a blog post of my testimony.
Now, you might be thinking, "Oh, she must have a big, awesome testimony to tell!"
   Nope.
My testimony is small compared to those about overcoming addictions, deaths, or danger. Well, actually, not exactly. In fact, all testimonies are the same in God's eyes. It doesn't matter if you overcame a drug addiction or just went from being obsessed with your looks to being obsessed with God.
So now it's time to tell you my testimony. Here is my story:
I'm growing up in a Christian home, in a good family. I live in a great community, go to an awesome church and have amazing friends. But up until a few days ago, something in my life was missing. See, I thought I had a relationship with God. But really, I was just going off of my parent's faith. I didn't have a real connection with him. I was constantly trying to fill the gap in my life with TV, friends, and all sorts of entertainment. I didn't realize until a few days ago that what I needed was God.
So, a few days ago, my family was watching our friend's kids while their parents were away. You will think this is weird, but I went and sat in my dog's crate(her name is Bailey). Now, just in case you're wondering, Bailey was laying inside her crate. (Didn't want you to think I was that weird!) I sat with Bailey, petting her, for maybe 10 to 15 minutes. I was very calm. It was one of those silent moments where you're left to your thoughts and then even those go away eventually. When that happened to me, I started to think deeper on my relationship with God, and if I really even had one. When I realized I didn't, I began to pray. Now this isn't exactly what I said, but it's the closest I can do: "God, I want my will to be your will. Take my will from me, and make me your's."
Almost immediately a sense of peace washed over me. God had answered my prayer. From then on, I wasn't as addicted to electronics, and I started reading my Bible more often. I now think about God a lot more than I used to, and I try to keep my eyes on him. And though sometimes, I do get distracted, I can now confidently say that I have a relationship with God. Maybe not super strong, but I'm working on it.

If you have a testimony you want to share, even if it's small like mine, please share it with me! I would love to hear your story.

Life is Crazy

Image result for Jack Pollock drip paintings

Hello! So I recently discovered drip paintings. The picture up above is not one of mine, but I do have some. This one was made by the guy who invented drip paintings, Jackson Pollock.
So I chose drip paintings as a theme because they are kind of crazy looking. (You get to go crazy making them too!) And just like drip paintings, life can also get pretty crazy!
With sports, any instruments that you play, or anything else that is your daily routine, your day can get pretty filled up. You don't really think about anything except that you need to do this and that, then later do these things. So, and I am guilty of this too, you don't really think about God, or spending time with him.
This is what the Bible says about that: "making the best use of time, because the days are evil." Ephesians 5 :16
Making the best use of time isn't just helping out around the house, it's also spending time with God.
Here's a challenge for you this month. Read your Bible. Whether it's on your phone or the book. I have started doing this also, so you're not alone. If you don't know where to start, a good recommendation from me is Proverbs. The book gives great advice and wisdom. Read a chapter a day. The chapters aren't too long, and there is thirty-one. Perfect for a month!
Another challenge(Though this one is just for fun): Create a drip painting! Use whatever colors you want, and go crazy. Then, after you've finished, go read a chapter in Proverbs.

I'll make another blog post next month! See you then!

Criticism and Competition

Related image

Hey people! Super sorry for the late post, my life has been really busy and I've been having writer's block...or is it blogger's block? Anyways, I finally came up with an idea! So, you know when you draw (or paint) something, you are usually pretty critical about it? Or even worse, you are drawing (or painting) with someone and their piece is better than yours? Ya, I'm pretty familiar with that too. People tend to judge others, or even themselves or their things. Humans can be very competitive. It's in our nature. Along with our sin.
In the Bible, Romans 3:10 says,
"As it is written: None is righteous, no, not one;"
It's OK to be critical of your work, just keep in mind that it's your work. You can make it however you want and no one can tell you differently. Don't try to compare yourself to others either. If you think they're better than you, that just means they probably have had more practice. So be happy for them instead of pointing out everything that's wrong. (I do that sometimes!)
    Luke 6:41 says,
"And why worry about a speck in your friend's eye when you have a log in your own?"
Now, I know that isn't exactly directed to drawing, but you can still use it in your life. That verse means don't point out all your friend's problems, first take care of your own.

Welp that's all I have for now! See you at the next post! (Hopefully I won't take as long... XD)

Warrior cats: Partially Mapleshade talk

Time to talk about......CATS!!
But not just any old cats. I'm talking about WARRIOR CATS!!!
*Fireworks go off and crowd goes wild*
Warriors is one of my favorite book series of all time. I'm waiting for the next book to come out. I'm really excited!

If you don't know what Warriors are, they are a book series (obviously) about four very different groups of cats: Thunderclan, Shadowclan, Windclan, and Riverclan. They fight each other to protect their borders, but sometimes trouble comes that threatens all the clans, and so they are at peace and work together to defeat whatever the problem is. Then sadly, they go back to being enemies.

The picture above is a picture of Mapleshade facing off with Sandstorm during the Great Battle. Mapleshade is (in my opinion) the best character ever. If you've ever read her book, you'll understand when I say her life was one of the worst a clan cat could have. If you haven't read her book, I won't spoil the story for you.

If you are middle school age I would totally recommend this wonderful book series. If your younger,  I would wait till your older...but it's you or your parent's choice. However it runs in your household.

I Hope you have a great day
and may God bless you,
Ada

Hunger games talk

Image result for hunger games gif look at my knife

I've decided to do a post not so serious this time. I'm also going away from the subject of art for this one too. Instead, I'm going to talk about the......drum roll, please!
*Drums play then suddenly stop*
THE HUNGER GAMES!!!!!!!
*Crowd cheers wildly*
The Hunger Games is very high on my list of favorite books, and yes, I have a list of favorite books and a list of good books.XD
The GIF above is one of my favorites. Katniss is swinging a knife around wildly then a guy comes up and takes it. Her face at the end is priceless. I can just hear her mind thinking, "Wait... don't take my knife....." XD
So far, I have only read the first book. I have to say, I was hooked from the first page. I'm going to watch the movie for my birthday, which is coming up. I really wanted to watch all four movies for my birthday, but one whole movie is over 2 hours long, and my mom quickly vetoed that idea. If you haven't read or watched the Hunger Games, and if your in middle school, I would strongly recommend it. If your not in middle school, then..... when your older you should read it cause it's pretty violent.

I don't know why, but right now, I am literally pounding on the keyboard as I write this. I want to jump up and down and run around the house at top speed cause for some weird and random reason, I'm really excited. Maybe it's cause I'm talking about the Hunger Games or recommending it to you..? I don't know. Haha, my legs are bouncing up and down now. XD

Well, I hope you have a good day,
and may the odds be ever in your favor! XD

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Image result for happy new year

Happy New Year everybody! Wow, 2018... I am ready for the new year! Do you have any new year resolutions? I would love to know what they are! If you have any, please let me know what they are in the comments below.

So, in the concept of the new year, I wanted to talk about new year resolutions. You most likely have one. I have one. To try and make at least fifteen more posts throughout the year. But you don't have to have one.
Do you know why?
Because God has some for you.
Every year, God wants you to do some things, here are two:
  • Love God
Now, let's break that down into four points.
  1. There is only one God, love Him
  2. Don't worship idols
  3. Don't take God's name in vain (i.e. oh my gosh, oh my god, that type of stuff)
  4. Honor the Sabbath day (i.e. rest, spend time with God)
  • Respect others
Let's also break this down into six points.
  1. Honor your father and mother
  2. Don't murder (hate=murder within your heart in God's eyes )
  3. Don't commit adultery
  4. Don't steal
  5. Don't lie
  6. Don't be greedy or lustful
Do these sound familiar? OK, yes, I shortened them, and yes, I made them blunt, but they are the same either way.
They are the Ten Commandments broken down.
God wants you to do these things not just every year, but every day as well. It's your choice. God wants us to obey these laws that he gave us. And if you don't obey one of them one day, don't worry. God won't hold it against you. Throughout my lifetime, I've probably failed to obey at least half. God forgave me though, and He'll forgive you too.

Have a happy New Year, and may God bless you.
